Why Digital Copiers Are Better Than Analog Copiers

A lot of companies today can’t go on with their daily routine without using a photocopier. They use it to create copies of different documents. When we talk about copy machines, there are two types that you can choose from: analog copiers and digital copiers.

Analog copiers are the old-fashioned type that a lot of people have come to be comfortable with. They produce copies through the process which involves a positively charged drum and a negatively charged ink toner.

On the other hand, digital copiers are gaining more and more popularity today because of the convenience and efficiency they offer. Digital copiers use a negatively charged drum with a positively charged toner system to print documents and photos. Thus, a much greater quality output is produced. Such documents or photos are scanned into the memory of the machine to be easily managed by a computer, saved for future reprinting, or sent to another computer by means of emailing or faxing.

Digital copiers tend to be an investment in small business. With just one machine, they get to do many things since it can be a standalone copier, computer printer, fax machine, and even flat-bed scanner. This type of copy machine offers more functions as compared to the conventional type.

Certainly, all businesses assess and evaluate how much money comes in and how much they shell out. With digital copiers, businesses get to save some money as these copiers don’t call for as much maintenance as the analog type does plus the cost of the ink used is lower. The main reason why you can save a significant amount of money is the ink used in digital copiers is able to yield more copiers so the per-page cost is much lower.

Digital copiers are also environment-friendly. They don’t add up to noise pollution since they work quietly. This type also has an energy-saving standby mode that powers down the machine although not completely. You also get to spare paper by using duplex printing and less paper jams occur.

More to these, you get to save some precious time since it can store the documents into the internal memory so continuous moving of the carriage and drum is not required. Scan the document once and you can make as many copies as you want.

Furthermore, digital copiers don’t eat a lot of space because they are usually smaller and more compact as compared to the analog copy machines.

Just because you have grown familiar with something does not mean you have to stick with it for all eternity. Change is good especially if it’s for the better!
