It is not bad to be around copy machines, but chemicals (like bleach, and getting your hair done) are not good for the baby.

Q&A: “The server for the printer does not have the correct printer driver installed.” On Win XP from Server 2003?
Question by jjg004: “The server for the printer does not have the correct printer driver installed.” On Win XP from Server 2003?
I am getting the following message on my Windows XP clients after installing a new Brother HL-5250DN and a Xerox Phaser 8560N printers on our Windows 2003 server: “The server for the printer does not have the correct printer driver installed. If you want to search for the proper driver, click OK. Otherwise, Click cancel and contact your network administrator or original equipment manufacturer for the correct printer driver.” The driver works fine if I install it as a local printer on each Windows XP machine. I’m using the same driver on the Windows 2003 server where I’m sharing the printers. I found a post that stated it could be due to security settings on the %systemdir%\system32\spool\drivers folder and I double-checked those settings. I even went as far setting the everyone group to full access on the spool\drivers folder, but that didn’t help. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

We have a similar problem with a new Windows 2003 print server and Windows XP clients. The error occurs when connecting initially, if the driver does not exist on the client machine. If the error is ignored and another attempt is made to connect, the driver downloads to the client and print jobs can be sent successfully.
The Windows 2003 server is a replacement for a Windows 2000 print server that does not have this problem. By the way the ‘print$ ‘ share has the same exact permissions between the two servers and it seems by default the ‘Everyone’ group has read permissions set.
The only way I was able to fix this was to replace the print driver on the server with a digitally signed version. After replacing the driver, workstations were able to connect without this error.

Does anyone know why xerox transfers only work with certain copiers ?
Question by HollyM: Does anyone know why xerox transfers only work with certain copiers ?
I have had great results in the past with the xerox transfer process, but the copier I used at a local copy place is no longer available, I don’t even know much about it. All of the copiers I have used since will not transfer the image correctly.I am not sure why some copiers work and some don’t. I am clueless about digital copiers, toner, laser printers, etc.? Does anyone know what type of copier I need to use or what makes the xerox transfer work? Thanks for reading and for your help in advance.

They don’t work on different makes of machines because the toners are different but most importantly the fuser temperatures and pressures are different.

Q&A: how to use scanner on those digital copiers?
Question by SA_QU8688: how to use scanner on those digital copiers?
I’m talking about those really big copy machines that have the fax, copier, and scanner all at once… please help 🙂

Answer by Xerox Ct
Normally, there is an attachment on top of the copy machines where you can slide your document in to scan and or copy. I’m not sure if you can fax it at the same time, but these copy/scanners/fax machines are so quick that you won’t lose much time if you have to fax your document immediately after scanning.

How much is a slightly used, in perfect condition HP PSC 1410v, all-in-one (printer copier scanner) worth?
Question by name: How much is a slightly used, in perfect condition HP PSC 1410v, all-in-one (printer copier scanner) worth?
still has all the cords and everything is clean and in perfect condition. I’m trying to sell it, but I’m not sure what I should ask for it. It’s been used maybe once to scan something and twice to print something, otherwise it’s sat in a box. I never print, scan or copy anything so its pointless for me to have it.. What should I sell it for?

It sells online new for $ 90-$ 100. Any piece of computer hardware pretty much drop about 50% of its value the second you buy it. Shoot for $ 50 or so. If you’re not desperate to be rid of it, you can always start at $ 70 and work yoru way down.

How do I clean a copy machine that uses toner cartridge?
Question by antron434: How do I clean a copy machine that uses toner cartridge?

Answer by Dubbya
When people ask this question, it’s usually because they’ve spilled a large amount of toner.
Be advised that if you have spilled a large amount of toner, using the printer will cause melted toner to stick to everything and you’ll have to toss it or get it repaired at great expense.
DO NOT USE YOUR HOUSEHOLD VACUUM!
Doing so will pass toner through the motor. The heat will melt the toner, it’ll stick to the motor and you’ll be shopping for a new vacuum.
Don’t do anything to get toner particles airborne. Toner is a carcinogen and the particles can take hours to settle.
Don’t do anything that may apply heat to the loose toner. Once heated, it’ll melt and stick like glue to anything that isn’t Teflon coated.
There are a few options:
1) You can ignore sage advice and use your household vacuum cleaner.
2) You can disassemble the printer and sweep out the spilled toner then wonder why you have one little screw left over after you put it back together.
3) You can dump it upside down and shake the spilled toner out, which will probably break something else.
4) You can call an experienced service technician who has the correct type of vacuum and tools and have them do it for you.

How can I use a copy machine to put pics on the internet?

With something that’s strictly a copier, you can’t. You need a scanner that connects to your computer, and there is a nice selection of copiers these days that can do that as well.

Get one of those cheap copy print fax machines (I know, you already have that covered, but this is the only way to get a copier for limited use cheap).
Use a kinko’s or office max or other places to do large numbers of prints if you have them. Spending a couple grand on a printer is a bad investment if you won’t spend that much on prints in years. You can put capitol to use better in advertising or other equipment you really need. A small copy capable machine will do for the small stuff that’s not in quantities that make it worth it to go to a printer.
You could also go in on another business’s copier, share one between a few different businesses in the same proximity, but that can get messy if some use it more than others and don’t want to pay according to use. You could also pay by the copy to a business near by who has a machine.

Faxing with Xerox Workcenter 5675?
Question by Ivan G: Faxing with Xerox Workcenter 5675?
Does anyone here uses the Xerox workcenter 5675 at work and is having problems sending and receiving faxes greater than 3 pages? It seems to be a widescale problem with about 10 such machines in my office. I am trying to find a fix. Please share.
Best answer:
Answer by Denver Al
That is odd. I’ve not heard anything like that before, especially the same problem with so many machines. Since it is so widespread throughout all of your machines, and they’re the same model, there is probably a problem with the internal control board or program that Xerox is probably aware of. Best thing to do is call Xerox technical support and ask them for a fix as that is not a normal problem.
Best of luck.
