Xerox Phaser 8560 PS- Delay between prints?

Question by frostlight: Xerox Phaser 8560 PS- Delay between prints?
I am using a Xerox Phaser 8560 PS printer, to print 200 or more pages. This printer supposedly prints 30 pages per minute, but watching it print…

There is a delay between each page print; the printing of the page itself is really fast. Anyone know how to get rid of the delay between prints? If I could manage to eliminate the delay, then the printing would be much faster and may actually reach 30 pages per min as the machine “says”.

Best answer:

Answer by Bryan C
It is possibly that the pages you are sending are collated. This would mean that each page is sent through to the printer as a separate file which it would process individually.

If you send a 1 page print job to the printer and tell it to print it 30 times. Time it once the first page starts printing and it should take a minute.

Alternatively call the Xerox (or Fuji Xerox) customer services in the country you reside.

Does any one know of possibly a scanning device that would scan the text into a word document? It contains diagram and symbols which are hard to type.

Best answer:

Answer by jazzz
Try scanning it into a PDF instead. That should preserve the symbols, etc.

Use PDFcreator to do it. It’s a free PDF creator that installs like a printer. Link below.

Does a xerox machine actually use ink?

Question by NatBug: Does a xerox machine actually use ink?
I know this is a dumb question, but where better to ask it than here?

Best answer:

Answer by Eric C
No, unless you’re talking about an ink-jet printer / copier made by Xerox. Xerox copiers typically use “toner” which is a micro-fine powder that is fused to the paper.

I have two Xerox printing machines for my business. Is there any computer software or a coin machine I can use?

Question by : I have two Xerox printing machines for my business. Is there any computer software or a coin machine I can use?
I have other services at my business and I need to know how to have customers use the copier without my help so that I can spend more time working other services. Is there any cards that i can give out to customers so that they can swipe for copies? Is there a way to add a debit card to my machines?

Best answer:

Answer by Irene Z
Actually no. Neither can you trust customers to be honest. But I do know that it is tedious to do such thing, so get the cheapest manpower you can find – students/whatever, station them to handle the machine and record the sales and collect the money.

Every Xerox comes with a click charge number, so you will actually know at the end of the day whether the amount collected tallies with the copies made.

Q&A: I want to find out what to charge for my used copiers and printers?

Question by Waterstone: I want to find out what to charge for my used copiers and printers?
We bought two new copiers and are getting rid of several older copiers and printers purchased in 2002 and 2003. They are older, but still functional so we figured in this economy, fledgling businesses might want to purchase used equipment cheaply. I am not sure what to charge for them. Does anyone know of a site where I can figure out a fair cost? They are Ricohs and Xeroxes. I plan to list them on Craigslist…purchaser to haul away. We still have lots of supplies for the Xerox printers as well since we weren’t sure when the funding for the new copiers was going to come through from corporate.
These copiers and printers were $ 10,000-$ 40,000 when first purchased so I am pretty sure they are worth more than $ 35 now!

Best answer:

Answer by Ann S
One thing is see if your xerox printers are on the list from xerox to be used as trade in on newer models. Contact them by way of their website or if you have a rep from xerox that handled your account they would have this info. Also were the xerox supplies purchased from xerox or part of your metered supplies? If purchased you can ship back to xerox for credit . If part of your metered supplies you wouldn’t be able to get credit and should sell the supplies separately. Check with your rep.
In regards to your Ricohs basically the same applies. You just need to contact the rep for those products. If you want to out right sell I would check on eBay, Craigslist etc. and see what they go for.

Question about all in one printers.

Question by TedX70: Question about all in one printers.
I don’t need faxing, so are there any suggestion on all in one printer/scanner/copy machine that’s have good qualities, last long, at a cheaper price? Why is the refurbished one cheaper with the same product info?

Thanks.

Answer by yisgood
Refurbished means it was broken and fixed so you are buying a repaired printer. Never ever buy a used or repaired inkjet. They have a finite lifetime. There is a used ink tank beneath the printer where excess ink collects. Once this is full, you can throw the printer out. With a used one, you never know how close to full it is.

Can someone recommend a printer/copier/fax all in one?

Question by TomatoMug: Can someone recommend a printer/copier/fax all in one?
I’m a beginner at computers,and I’m looking for the above.I like simplicity,easy setup and a $ 100 to $ 175 price range.Also.are the “refurbished”models safe to buy? thanks.

Best answer:

Answer by Barry B
My gut feeling is always not to recommend an all-in-one. First of all, they are usually ink jets, not lasers, and the printing cost is about 10 times that of a laser, because even though a laser cartridge costs about 2 to 3 times as much as ink cartridges, it lasts much longer.

Secondly, if one part of the machine develops a problem and the unit has to be repaired, you lose all functions until the unit is returned or replaced.

Q&A: Cartridge problems with canon copier??

Question by omari_revolutions: Cartridge problems with canon copier??
Recently I bought a refurbished toner cartridge for my Canon NP 6412 copier. It took me a while to figure out how to install the cartridge because this was the first cartridge-change we’ve don with it so far, (we bought the copier used). Anyways, I finally managed to stick it in there and I tried to power up the copier, but, lo and behold, the “no toner” light was still flashing and the copier was not responding when I tried to copy something. I’m pretty sure I put the cartridge in right, but can anyone give me more detailed instructions, or at least a link that has detailed instructions for said copier? Thanks in advance!

Best answer:

Answer by Jack S
Most cartridges have a anti-leak strip that must be removed, usually from the side. Go to the Canon site and in support you should be able to find the owners manual with complete instructions on changing toner.

Where can I donate a used office Copier?

Question by : Where can I donate a used office Copier?
We’re not using it as much and need it out of the office! Needs minor tuneup, but otherwise works. Royal Copystar 2310 L office copier. Located in Bay Area, CA on Peninsula.
Will a refurbish shop take it, or what other ideas are there besides landfill??

Best answer:

Answer by Alex S.
Call up some local copy machine dealers and ask if they want to buy or take it off your hands. Try not to call the “authorized dealers.” They usually won’t be interested. But independent shops will likely be interested in taking the machine. Some shops do not like to carry every brand, so a few phone calls will be necessary.

If not, try donating it to a school or non-profit maybe.

Q&A: If a buy a used copy machine and docs are on the hard drive , Do i own them also?

Question by : If a buy a used copy machine and docs are on the hard drive , Do i own them also?
I seen on the news people can buy them for around 300$ and they have hard drives. They have docs saved on them. almost no companies will erase them. So if someone got one and it has trade secrets or other goodies from a company. Do they own them also when buying the machine?

Best answer:

Answer by Natty_Dread
As long as second hand copy machines are concerned, finding documents inside its hard drive after purchasing it doesn’t mean that you own those documents already. You can be held liable for copyright infringements, especially if you are going to use those materials personally. You only bought the machine in the first place and documents inside the machine you bought were not part of the transaction, unless it has something to do with the machine itself (e.g. machine manual).
